For different types of waste (food waste, commercial waste, biowaste, residual waste or total waste).
For fluctuations in the waste composition (e.g. proportion of impurities) as well as fluctuations over time.
Heavy materials such as glass, stones, metals, bones and batteries (heavy material fraction) are efficiently separated via the heavy material trap of the BTA® Waste Pulper.
Light materials such as plastic films, textiles, wood (light fraction) are efficiently separated from the organic solution by means of the LRS Rake or LRS Screw and dewatered to reduce disposal costs.
The grit fraction smaller than 2 mm, such as sand, glass splinters or shell residues, is separated from the organic solution in the BTA® Grit Removal System and washed to separate adhering organic matter for possible material recycling.
This ensures a maximum feed of fermentable organics for digestion, while clean impurity actions are obtained.
High operational safety
Minimised wear of the equipment after the BTA® Hydromechanical Pre-Treatment thanks to the separation of the heavy and light fraction as well as the sand separation before the anaerobic digestion.
The excellent preparation of the organic suspension together with the optimal process conditions in the fully mixed fermenters ensure high process stability and plant availability.
High product quality
The separation of impurities before biological treatment reduces the potential contamination of the digestate with heavy metals, glass or plastic.
Wet mechanical treatment and wet fermentation have a washing effect on the treated material and thus increase the digestate quality and the final product.
Several measures are taken to reduce the plastic content in the dewatered digestate or in the final product.
The heavy and sand fractions are counter-rinsed with treated process water to minimise organic build-up.
Maximum biogas yield
Due to the extensive digestion of the fermentable organic matter in the BTA® Hydromechanical Pre-Treatment before the fermentation stage and the complete mixing of the organic suspension in the fermenter.
