This plant, the first in the BTA® Compact series, was commissioned
in early 2024 in Occitanie, France, replacing conventional depacking
equipment.
Consisting of a BTA pulper and a BTA hydrocyclone, it enables the
recovery of 8.000 to 10.000 tonnes per year of IAA waste, supermarket
waste and household bio-waste with a high content of contaminants.
The BTA® Compact series perfectly integrates the advantages of BTA®
hydromechanical pre-treatment in a standardised configuration,
making it the ideal solution for treating a wide range of waste streams
in co-digestion facilities such as wastewater treatment plants or
agricultural anaerobic digestion plants.
Despite the highly heterogeneous nature of the waste, which includes
a significant amount of packaging and glass containers, this plant has
easily achieved and even exceeded its nominal hourly capacity. The
quality of the soup, analysed several times, has a contaminant level
(plastics, glass, metals) well below the very strict threshold required in
France.
In addition, the pulper’s ability to dissolve organic matter effectively
has led to a significant reduction in the tonnage of rejects, generating
significant OPEX savings.
End of 2024: Extension of the BTA® Compact series line
Less than a year after commissioning, our customer placed an order
to expand the plant by adding a dewatering press for light rejects
and a glass trap at the pulper. The press is designed to further reduce
the residual liquid content of the refuse, while the glass trap further
increases the plant’s capacity to process glass waste.
