Example of a typical solid manure project

In Methwold (Norfolk), United Kingdom Agraferm built an AD plant for Future Biogas Ltd., with two digesters, integrated gas treatment and a biogas output of 870 Nm³ per hour.

The special feature of this plant is the demanding feedstock mix with 55% of solid pig manure. Another complex design feature was to integrate the solid feeding and milling machinery into an existing building, proving once again the excellent engineering skills of Agraferm.

The AD plant is characterised by its optimum output relative to the space the plant takes up. Agraferm’s technology is cost effective with sufficient retention time of the feedstock (around 30 days) at a high dry matter organic loading rate and high degradation of the feedstock thanks to the patented agitators in smaller size tanks. Agraferm plants are also well known for their low electricity consumption and low maintenance costs.
