BTA plants produce over 200+ million Nm³ of biogas per year, which is the energy equivalent of over 120+ million Nm³ of natural gas.

The first biowaste digestion plant using the BTA® Process was commissioned in 1991. In the meantime, more than 55+ plants have been built worldwide using our process or key components of the wet mechanical pretreatment with a total capacity of approx. 2.5 million tonnes/year.

Since 2014, Agraferm has built 20+ plants with a treatment capacity of >2 million tons, including plants with an throughput of up to 180,000 tons per year. In addition to the "common" agricultural residues, straw, for example, is now increasingly being used as a substrate for biogas production. Agraferm is one of the few full-range suppliers of agriculturally and industrially designed biogas plants.
