Compact now also in Italy!

Right at the end of 2024, BTA had been selected by the Italian company SECIT as the technology provider for the design, installation, commissioning and start-up of the wet Anaerobic Digestion Plant Olbia (Sardinia / Italy).
Olbia will be BTA´s 2nd plant on Sardinia, after Villacidro, built already back in 2002. Olbia will be treating about 25.000 ton per year of biowaste (“FORSU” and commercial waste), plus approx. additional 5.000 ton per year of slaughterhouse residues and another around 8.000 ton per year of liquid waste, fats and agricultural residues.
Two BTA® Compact Series, each composed of the BTA Waste Pulper Compact and the BTA GRS Compact, are foreseen to treat the FORSU and commercial waste fraction. The integration of the Compact Series will allow SECIT to meet the very limited space available on site and at the same time the challenging project time schedule and tight budget. BTA will sign within the project furthermore responsible for the wet anaerobic digestion step and the dewatering and internal process water management, as this plant will be designed according to the BTA® Process.
