Use of agricultural and food waste at an agricultural scientific center

In 2012, the National Academy Republic of Belarus and Agraferm jointly decided on the planning and construction of an Agraferm AD plant at the state-owned Perezhir center, the Republican Unitary Enterprise, the Scientific and Practical Center for Agricultural Mechanization. The AD plant is designed for the digestion of agricultural input materials.

The technology is designed in such a way that the plant can digest different feedstocks in varying proportions. The concept developed by Agraferm thus enables a high degree of flexibility andnonstop operation, with a combined heat and power (CHP) unit availability over 8,000 hours per year.

The electricity generated is fed into the local power grid. With minor modifications, it could also be used directly on the farm. A part of the heat production of the CHP unit is used as process heat for AD plant, the remainder sold to the other facilities at the center.

Agraferm completed the construction with local companies and commissioned the AD plant in 2013.
