Compact, versatile AD plant, heat supplied to local distributed heating network

Agraferm has built a compact and versatile AD Plant in Rambrouch, Luxembourg. Agraferm acted as prime contractor for the AD Plant, the weighbridge, the associated civil works, as well as the twosilos of 7,000 m³ each. Agraferm also supplied and commissioned the equipment for the heat distribution network. The piping work for the heating network was carried out under the supervision of the municipality.

One of the characteristics of the installation is its optimization for maximum biogas production with a minimum footprint. This is made possible by the Agraferm biological process with a high dry matter organic loading rate and high degradation of the feedstock thanks to the patented agitators in smaller size tanks. One of the technical specificities is the use of a biogas boiler in case of emergency, which avoids the use of an emergency flare.

The AD plant electricity production covers the electricity needs of about 2,000 households and supplies heat to about ten houses and buildings in the municipality via a heating network.
